Recapping Myles Turner’s performance for Team USA vs Poland

Team USA concluded its time in the 2019 FIBA World Cup with an 87-74 win over Poland.

Myles Turner recorded 7 points (33.3% FG, 33.3% 3P, 0% FT), 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 turnovers in this display. He made his greatest impact on the defensive end of the floor by proving an interior presence.

The work to build a lead was done early for Team USA as they outscored Poland 28-14 in the first quarter. They continued to build on that early momentum by holding a three-point scoring differential in the second period. They held a 47-30 lead at halftime.

Poland managed to outscore Team USA in the third quarter 25-16 but that would be the only period where they would hold an advantage. Team USA managed to turn things around to close the game and ultimately won with 87-74 being the final score.

With the win over Poland, Team USA finished the 2019 FIBA World Cup with a 7th place finish. What’s next for Myles is the beginning of training camp with the Indiana Pacers in late September.
