Myles Turner was officially named to the U.S. Team Roster for the BBVA NBA Rising Stars Challenge in part of All-Star Weekend in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The BBVA NBA Rising Stars Challenge is an exhibition game featuring first-and-second-year NBA players broken up into two rosters, the U.S. Team Roster and the World Team Roster. The participants are voted in by the NBA’s assistant coaches.

He told the media after practice on Wednesday what it meant to him to be named to the U.S. Team Roster for the 2017 NBA Rising Stars Challenge.

The U.S. Team Roster: Devin Booker, Malcolm Brogdon, Marquese Chriss, Brandon Ingram, Frank Kaminsky, Jahlil Okafor, D’Angelo Russell, Jonathon Simmons, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Myles Turner.

The World Team Roster: Joel Embiid, Dante Exum, Buddy Hield, Nikola Jokic, Trey Lyles, Emmanuel Mudiay, Jamal Murray, Kristaps Porzingis, Domantas Sabonis, and Dario Saric.

Myles Turner was not voted in last season as he missed 28 games before All-Star Weekend, but good health and effective performance was certainly enough to make it this season. For reference, he is currently posting career-high averages in minutes (30.1), points (15.7), rebounds (7.6), assists, (1.0), steals (0.7), and blocks (2.3).
