Gold medal, not injury, is on mind of Myles Turner ahead of World Cup (via IndyStar)

INDIANAPOLIS – After the injury Paul George endured while part of USA Basketball, it would be understandable if the Indiana Pacers had misgivings about Myles Turner’s participation.

Pacers coach Nate McMillan does not see it that way. Neither does Turner.

The 6-11 Pacer is part of the U.S. team playing in China in the World Cup, formerly the World Championship. The Americans begin their quest for a gold medal Sunday.

“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time,” Turner told USA Basketball. “You start with, like, the Nike Hoop Summit in high school, then the select team, and then you finally make it up to here. It’s pretty cool.
